A 19th century rifle. 45 caliber, percussion, half-stock, with octagonal barrel initialed "R.P" at the top, and ramrod. Engraved lockplate reads "Golche" (partially rubbed), possibly for Joseph Golcher, otherwise unmarked. Hinged brass patchbox to the right side of the stock, along with numerous decorative inlays at both sides, including fish and crescent shapes. No serial number. Large crack in the stock near the butt plate, and under the barrel (with area of loss/repair). Some wear and pitting. Barrel 24 1/2" long, 40" long overall. ESTIMATE $400-600
