This extremely rare CDV vignette photo is of General Negley in his uniform, on gilt-ruled card with clipped lower corners; handwritten notations but no backstamp. The first we have offered.
James Scott Negley (1826–1901). His Civil War career began as an assistant adjutant general and ended as acting inspector general, for the Middle Military Division. He mustered out on December 24, 1865.
