Engraved silver presentation kovsh with large cabochon bezel set jade on front (a later addition to the piece) and jade handle with applied Imperial Russian Eagle crest, supported with figural form of a dragon. Kovsh engraved with decoration throughout body, inscribed around upper rim with "The Beauty of the Feasting Friends" and "Fun and Joy Girlfriends". Gold washed interior. Mark on base, engraved with multiple signatures inscribed in Cyrillic. Hallmarks on foot and back below handle. Mikhail Ovchinnikov, Moscow, Russia, circa 1835-1882. Dragon handle support has been repaired possibly at the same time as the addition of the cabochon bezel setting, and mark on interior gold wash, from possible use as a punchbowl. 9"h x 16.5"w x 9.5"d. over 6 lbs.
