You are bidding on a German made beaver top hat with the original fiber board box. The hat was originally sold at a Stuttgart, Germany store called A.F. Müller; the name appears on both the hat and the hat box. Inside the hat, "A.F. Müller * Stuttgart / Thorstr.25" appear in a crest along with the words "Neueste / Mode" (Latest Fashion) along either side. The initials of the hat's original owner--PA--appear to have been glued just underneath the crest. The store name appears in fancy lettering on one end of the oval hat box along with another crest. Above the Crest is "Hut - Lager" (Hat Store). "Stuttgart / 25 Thor-Strasse 25" appears below the store name. The bottom line reads "neben dem "Neuen Tagblatt"" ( next to the daily paper). The oval box has a latch on one side--the latch on the other side is missing--to hold the lid on. Along the inside perimeter of the box is laced a red string to suspend the hat upside down in the box. The lid is concave and has a small wire handle. The hat and the box are in presentable shape, considering their age. The hat measures 12" x 11" at the brim and is approximately 6" tall. The box measures 13.25" x 11" and is 8" tall at the ends.
