Ancient Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A beautiful bracelet comprised of stunning blue-green glass with marvelous areas of translucency as well as silvery and purple iridescence, the form of a petite size suggesting that it was created for a slender female or a youth. After the invention of glassmaking, personal adornments were fashioned in man-made glass like this example. A lovely piece either for wearing or intended as a votive offering. Size: 2.125" in diameter (5.4 cm); opening 1.75" in diameter (4.4 cm)
