Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan/Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A pretty example of a low, wide bowl with large mouth and flared rim. The shoulder has finely-painted, geometric patterns of angled lines and crosshatching around it. Elegant and indicative of the excellent work being produced at a very early time period in this region. Size: 5.5" W x 2.75" H (14 cm x 7 cm)
