Latin America, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. An attractive, four-legged, rectangular wooden trunk, the faces of which are all hand painted with a stylized floral pattern in hues of red, green, and blue on a yellow ground and framed with hammered metal strips, the sides with two lovely brass handles comprised of round bases that are incised with a circular-patterned border and joined with elegant pulls of an openwork sinuous motif, the interior lined with a blue fabric. A beautiful example of folk art from this part of the world. Size: 10.5" deep x 13.75" W x 16.25" H (26.7 cm x 34.9 cm x 41.3 cm)
