EE-5 OCTAGONAL EAGLE PRESSED OPEN SALT, colorless, flared even-scallop rim, center without stippling. Rare. Possibly Providence Flint Glass Co. 1830-1845. 1 1/4" H, 3" x 4".
Excellent condition, rim with the loss of one scallop, partial loss of several others, and some minor flaking/mold roughness, table ring intact.
Literature: Neal - Pressed Glass Salt Dishes of the Lacy Period, p. 81. Like Bourne - The William J. Elsholz collection, volume III XXX, lot 300.
Provenance: Collection of Jim Lawrence and Denver Smallwood, Chattanooga, TN.
