LEE/ROSE NO. 374 CUP PLATE, amethyst, 22 scallops with single point between. Very rare (see note). Good resonance. Eastern, possibly Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. 1840-1860. 3 1/4" D.
Loss of one point, partial loss of four other points and four scallops, several top-rim spalls.

Catalogue Note: This and the following lot are the first examples of this plate that we have sold, which suggest it is extremely rare. It was on Elsholz's want list but he never acquired a specimen. It was also absent from the Powell, Bilane, and King collections.
