Title: Irish Fairy Tales. Publisher: Macmillan. Publication Date: 1920. Binding: Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket. Edition: Special Edition. This is the first US edition of the Arthur Rackham illustrated "Irish Fairy Tales" (318 pages), published by Macmillan (New York) in November, 1920. This copy has been recovered, but with no attribution as to bindery. The full leather cover, crushed green morocco boards blending to brown at the borders, full brown on the spine, which has five raised bands, gilt lettering and decoration, is in very good overall condition, but with surface splitting at the spine edge of the front cover, resulting in a weakness at that hinge. The front cover is connected, but it needs careful handling. The back cover has surface wear at the corresponding hinge, but it is much more securely connected. There is other slight edge wear, including shallow bumps to two outside corners, but there are no significant stains, no notable fade to the gilt, and no slant to the spine, which is securely connected to the inside. The inside cover spreads, marbled paper surface, excepting the wrap-around inside cover gilt borders, have a tanned line to the first and last end page borders, presumably from the gilt inside cover borders, but no other stains. There are no stamps or other attachments, there or elsewhere. The gilt top page edges are slightly dimmed, but in good condition. The page faces are clean throughout, with no tears or creases. The sixteen full page Rackham color illustrations are in fine condition, with all tissue guards in place. All the black and white in-page illustrations, and all text, are also in fine condition. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. The accompanying photos, of this copy, are accurate reflections of the book conditions.Domestic: Flat-rate of $12.00 to anywhere within the contiguous U.S.International: Foreign shipping rates are determined by destination.Location: This item ships from Connecticut
