1803 Monthly Visitor & New Family Magazine London Sketches Poetry Illustrated
The Monthly Visitor, or New Family Magazine, is a monthly periodical published in London by the Society of Gentlemen. This popular magazine included stories, historical events, poetry, discussions of trade, and biographies of important figures.
These volumes are beautifully illustrated with 29 portraits, city and landscape views, and a folding chart on effects of small-pox and cow-pox. They also include a biographical sketch of Paul le Mesurier, lyrical addresses of Nathaniel Bloomfield, and memoires of Rev. William Mason. The British Museum Catalogue calls for these volumes as a part of a “New Series” of volumes.
