Friedrich Pecht was a 19th century artist. He was commissioned by The Grand Duke of Baden Leopold, for several large oil paintings from the life Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller. This example is an extremely rare first edition of the works of Schiller filled with 50 steel engravings and descriptions of the illustrations.
