A 1950's 18ct gold diamond and gem-set bird brooch. The bird, comprising textured feathers with openwork breast, emerald eye and ruby and turquoise tail feathers, resting on a diamond accent branch. Maker's mark for Hamilton & Inches. Import marks for Edinburgh, 1956. Length 4.4cms. Weight 15.2gms.

Condition

  • Overall condition good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamond bright.
  • Estimated diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Size of diamond prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Emerald is a bright, slightly greenish blue hue.
  • Turquoise are a very slightly greenish bleu through greenish blue.
  • Rubies are a deep, slightly purplish red hue.
  • French assay marks. Kite mark with a shell, Ste, GR.
