Susan Goodrich studied art at the University of Wisconsin, but left after two years, disengaged from an art education that she described as "rigid". Rejecting the popular and commercial art movements of her time, Goodrich created in a style that the Allan Stone Projects has termed "whimsical realism". Her paintings blend contemporary historical and political references with anachronistic subject matter. She has exhibited in galleries across the U.S., the annual National Academy of Design in New York and the U.S State Department’s Art in Embassies Program.
