  • Journal, likely kept by Francis White, relating trips to Virginia in 1842 and Niagara in 1843 - includes a reference to "F Stanly USN from N.Carolina" - undoubtedly Fabius Stanly - who during the Mexican War took part in the capture of San Francisco (9 July 1846) and commanded the blockhouse guarding the town.
