Rare and Popular BG-29 The Sound PosterArtist: Wes WilsonMedium: LithographPrinting Date: 1966Publisher: Bill Graham PresentsSeries: Bill Graham PresentsSize: 13¼" x 24½"
“The Sound” is one of Wes Wilson’s best and most widely known images. The curvaceous woman dancing in the nude was a representation of the era. The popularity of this poster led to several different printings. The one offered here is known as the OP-2—one of three different pre-show printings. The OP-1 was printed in black ink; the OP-2 has magenta-colored ink; the OP-3 has more of a purple-colored ink. All three are quite scarce due to small print runs and the posters’ popularity, and this OP-2 is by far the rarest. This combination makes it quite difficult to find today, especially in top condition.
