Description
Beaded Sioux Vestment (Native American Breast Plate). 19" x 9". Long white beads decorated with blue and white glass trade beads. A satin tie on with brass bells was noted by Earl as missing. The blue denim spacing has deteriorated over time. Beads are all in find condition. A single rare Amber Bead highlights the clasp strings. Very old and very rare. Ex-Phillip C. Schupp collection. Earl acquired the Schupp collection in 1950. Comes with copy of 1968 appraisal by Lynn Munger where he refers to it as "certainly one of the finest ever made" Beautiful display. Earl Townsend
