Black Panther Poster

A Black Panther poster depicting a black man with an upraised arm in chains in front of stylized city skyscrapers. Text on lower right "POWER TO THE PEOPLE," and below "The Committe to Defend the Panther 21/37 Union Square West, 4th Floor/New York, New York 10003/243-2260." Text at bottom in orange "FREE THE NEW YORK PANTHER 21" with "ARM" in black ink at lower right. The poster refers to the arrest of 21 Black Panther Party (BPP) members in 1969, who were charged with conspiracy in an attempt to bomb the Botanical Gardens and several department stores. In 1971 all 21 BPP members were acquitted of all charges. Dimensions: 104X75 cm. Overall good condition, creases, some repaired tears. Framed, not examined outside of the frame.
