From the scarce 1876 Jones & Hamilton Historical Atlas of the World Illustrated comes an early color map of New Mexico, possibly by Keith Johnston. Very detailed in both topographical features and information. Shows locations of numerous ranches, forts, Indian trails, wagon routes, mines, Indian tribes, railroads, rivers, towns, traveler’s information (“Comanche route said to be practicable for wagons†etc.) and more. State is depicted in full color that looks like hand-coloring but I believe to be an early use of printed color. Map of Arizona on back. Some minor soiling in margins plus a small, light spot at top frame and two small, light dots near bottom frame. Frame runs off bottom edge, as printed. 12.375 x 19.25 inches.Domestic: Flat-rate of $7.50 to anywhere within the contiguous U.S.International: Foreign shipping rates are determined by destination.Location: This item ships from Ohio.
