Indo-China. Seated goddess, five-claw dragon. Tonkin. Phoenix, maiden with incense burner. Empire of Annam. Court Mandarin, imperial dragon. Cochin China. Tiger head, maiden carrying load of rice on shoulders. Laos. 3-headed elephant, young couple with pan pipes. Cambodia. Enthroned prince, 7-headed cobra. Catalogue Générale, vol. 3, pp 404-405 illustrates the last five, stating “Attribution uncertain… created about 1930, unsigned, exact identity of artist cannot be determined.” A major mystery of the Paris Mint! Bronze, 59mm.
