DESCRIPTION: Donald MacLaughlin (Massachusetts/Canada, 1876-1938). Two etchings on paper. Each framed and matted with glass. 1) Etching signed in pencil lower center. Titled and dated 1922 in plate upon lower left. Label to reverse from Arthur H. Harlow and Co. of New York. 14" x 10-5/8". Overall with frame and mat 20-7/8" x 17-1/8". 2) Etching depicting a landscape. Signed lower right in pencil. Signed in plate lower left. 9-3/4" x 7-1/4". Overall with frame and mat 18" x 15-1/8". PROVENANCE: From the collection of Dr. Beate A. Schiwek (1943-2016), Chambersburg, PA. Dr. Schiwek was the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Felician College in Lodi, NJ, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. While at Felician, she became the first dean of a private college to serve as National President of the Council of Colleges at Arts & Sciences. MEASUREMENTS: See Description.
