A GROUP OF SILVER AND ENAMELED CASES AND BOXES, CIRCA 1835-1925. Comprising a Russian silver and cloisonné enameled match case, Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1890. The rectangular case with rounded corners and the body overall enameled with florals and geometric designs, the bottom with striking surface and the interior of hinged lid with hallmark, Cyrillic maker's mark, and 88 silver standard. Length 2.25 inches (6 cm). Together with an English silver snuff box with engraved crest on hinged lid, hallmarked London, 1872, and maker's mark for William Smiley. Length 2 inches (5 cm). Also an interesting English silver and enameled vesta case with enameled surface named to Galfrid Leslie Melville for the Junior Carlton Club, the hinged lid with suspension loop opening to reveal a datemark of 1890 and maker's mark of S.M. and Co. Length 2.25 inches (6 cm). And a George IV silver snuff box, with engine turned decoration and cast floral lip and fluted sides, the interior gilded and hallmarked. Length 2.5 inches (6.5 cm). A low profile Sterling card case with spring half lid engraved with monogram. Length 3 inches (7.5 cm). And an attractive Egyptian revival silver vesta, marked Sterling, and engraved with the initials JAJ. Length 2.75 inches (7 cm).
