A Greek ceramic head of a male grotesque, c. 2nd - 1st Century BC, mold made with great style and detail, the features quite expressive with knobby head and bulging eyes. H: 2 1/8 in (5.3 cm). Light deposits and an attractive piece! Mounted on a square lucite base. Ex collection of James Chesterman (1926-2014), formed in the UK in the 1970s-2000, and acquired from Galerie Serres, Paris, in April 1996; Ex Fouquet collection; Ex Madame de Mengin collection, Paris.
