Probably made by Wolf & Knell, Hanau Germany 1887-1914, the beautiful square, footed, silver holder has repousse and cut-out silver work with scenes of Cherub & Women, front and back, the 2 men playing Instruments on the front side and her coming around on the back. This basket has intricate details with beautiful Patina throughout. It's in as found condition, I don't clean these types of items. The silver is thick and the handles are elaborately swirled and flowers with NO monograms.It's only the basket NO insert, the glass insert is missing. German silver from this period was usually 800 fineness. Wolf & Knell did faithful copies of 17th century silver pieces and they stamped them with Hanau pseudo hallmarks. It's stamped on the bottom, shown in the pictures.
