Chinese, Qing Dynasty, late 19th/ early 20th century. A well modeled porcelain figure of Cai shen, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune and the Taoist god of prosperity or wealth, depicting the male deity standing in full length in his typical dress atop a shaped and pierced wave form pedestal and holding a lotus flower to a board before his chest, the figure leaning or bowing slightly forward over a qilin beast that stands proudly at his feet wearing a large period coin to his side flanked by hanging lotus flowers, the whole covered in underglaze hand painted enamel decoration of varying geometric and naturalistic motifs. Underside with several labels "Wildwood Imports / 90814", otherwise unmarked. Approximate height 17", width 7", depth 7".
