English (Ledbury), second quarter 19th century. An oak and mahogany tallcase clock having a split scrolled pediment and center finial supported by front turned free-standing columns with square glazed door opening to the conforming 11" square enameled metal dial painted with Arabic numerals and headed with a painted landscape with figures and a building under the numeral twelve with calendar crescent window and inscribed with maker's name "Brown" and location "Ledbury" above the numeral six within floral painted spandrels, the movement a count wheel striking on a bell, the trunk with single door concealing pendulum and weights raised on a rectangular base. Approximate height 81.5", width 19", depth 9.5".
