Old Master ptg of Dutch port, c.1780-1840. Dimensions 13" X 8" in a frame 17" X 12".On wood panel.Finely painted.From the closed restoration studio of Orrin H.Riley and Susanne Schnitzer, NYC.Mr. Riley was the founder of the conservation department at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and was the chief restorer there for more than two decades. He left the museum in 1981 to head his own conservation and restoration studio, Orrin H. Riley Ltd., with his partner, Susanne Schnitzer.Riley passed in 1986, Susanne, his partner and girlfriend, continued the studio until 2007 when she was tragically killed in an automobile accident.After 10 years the Attorney General for the State of New York, cleared the way for the items in the studio to be sold.David Killen Gallery purchased the contents of the restoration studio, which consisted of some 200 works of art.

Condition

Good condition overall.Recently cleaned and varnished and there was no paint missing, no inpainting done.
