This is Matthew Josephson's review copy of John Dos Passos' translation from French to English, and Dos Passos' illustrations, of Blaise Cendrars Panama, or the Adventures of My Seven Uncles (156 pages), published by Harper and Brothers in 1930. The glassine wrap, stamped as a Review Copy, is worn and torn. The book itself is in good overall condition, but with bumps to the cover's outside corners, shallow edge wear, including short tears to the ends of the spine, and light scuffs. The end pages are foxed, and there is recurrent spot foxing throughout the book. All the lettering and art are unfaded and clearly legible. The binding is secure, with no loose or missing pages. Included with this copy are Josephson's draft of his review for this book, and notes Josephson made on the back of a telegram to him, asking him to review a different book. This is an interesting bit of literary history. The above photos are accurate reflections of the book conditions. Bookseller Inventory # 1217
