East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty, ca. 8th to 10th century CE. A fascinating fragment of a clay temple brick depicting three warriors, two fully present, the third partially present. The warriors wear enormous horned helmets and have skeletal legs and faces; they probably represent the Mongols. Size: 10.25" L x 7.5" W (26 cm x 19 cm)
