Pair of 19th C. Chinese Famille Jaune begonia porcelain vases. Of a baluster shape, with ovoid body, rounded shoulder tapered gracefully toward conical tall neck supporting the inverted flori-form shaped rim, raised on footed base. The main body decorated with hand painting in famille rose polychrome design of various birds perched on flower blooms, rock works, and foliage inside two rectangular cartouches against white underglazed ground. Alternately with themed calligraphy inscription, followed by artist's iron-red signature seals. The body decorated with scrolling patterns surrounding the rectangular cartouche in pale-yellow under glazed ground.
