Lot 0042
Remington 1861 Army Revolver converted to metallic cartridge. This pistol retains about 90% of a nickel plating that was most likely done at the factory at the time of conversion. The top of the barrel is marked "Patented Dec. 17 1861, Manufactured by Remington's, Ilion, NY" in two lines. There is a letter B on the left barrel flat where it meets the frame and one on the top of the trigger guard on the left side. The bottom of the barrel where the rammer sits is marked with "3499 Y" and a larger number 28. The wood grips are very good but slightly concave at the bottom where they meet the grip frame (which has "WK" lightly scratched in it.) This is a nice, exceedingly tight revolver in great condition. Weight: 2.5 lbs.
