Pennsylvania school girl needlework alphabet sampler, wool on linen, 12 rows of alphabet and numerals divided by various stitches, signed "Mary Elizabeth Dobbs Aged 10 years November 11th 1847 Kittanning" (Kittanning, PA). A figure of a dog and three trees are near the date. Housed in a black wooden frame. Sight - 20 1/4" H x 12" W. Framed - 22" H x 13 5/8" W. American, circa 1847.
