(8vo), original green cloth printed in black. First Edition.Inscribed by Horace Albright on the half-title: "With best wishes and appreciation to Gerald Marsh. Head Ranger Naturalist, one of my most faithful officious assistants during Yellowstone's most successful season. Faithfully, Horace M. Albright. - Yellowstone National Park, August 18, 1928." Laid in is a signed, typed letter from Albright on Department of the Interior stationery dated June 22, 1927 instructing all park personnel to let the bearer of the letter, Gerald Marsh, travel about Yellowstone Park freely as he performs his duties. Albright served as superintendent of Yellowstone National Park and, for a short time, Yosemite National Park. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1980.
