Description
Audubon, John James. American (1785-1851). 25 color lithograph plates from "The Birds of America". Royal Octavo Second Edition, 1856, or later, each approximately 6.5" x 10". Almost all matted and packaged in plastic. The group includes Pigeon Falcon, Californian Turkey Vulture and Caracara Eagle. These prints are not simply small replicas of the elephant folio edition. Only one species appears on each plate, and often the backgrounds are simplified.
Provenance: From a Virginia Collector.
Condition: Sight condition is very good to near fine with some toning.
