Bloch, Marcus Elieser. German (1723-1799). 2 Plates from "Ichtyologie, ou Histoire Naturelle, Generale et Particuliere des Poissons" [Ichthyology or natural history, general and particular fish]. Berlin: 1785-1797. Hand-colored engraved plates by F.G. Berger, G. Bodenehr, C. Darchow, P. Haas, J.F. Henning, C. Ludwig Schmidt, J.G. Schmidt and others after J.F. Henning, Kruger, and others, some printed in colors and finished by hand, a few heightened in silver and gold. Laid paper. Framed. 28.5" x 24.5" ++ Plate 272: Fig. 1. Chaetodon Curacao. Fig. 2. Chaetodon Faber. ++ Plate 421: Stromateus Argenteus.

Condition: Near fine condition. Handsomely framed and matted. One small chip to frame.
