PRESSED ACANTHUS LEAF WHALE OIL / FLUID STAND LAMP, translucent starch blue dome-top font, alabaster/clambroth base, overall lightly sanded surface, large size, 12 protruding petals below the shoulder and a short hexagonal extension with 12 beads below, raised on a 12-petal-top acanthus leaf standard and double-step square base beaded between the steps, later brass collar topped with an electric adapter. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1840-1860. 12 3/4" H, 4 1/2" SQ base.
Excellent condition overall with a sizeable sliver chip to the top of one step. Underfill to the underside of the base, as made.
