A Roman-Egyptian terracotta pot-support depicting Papposilenos, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD, his features very well detailed and wearing a tall pointed cap. Dimensions: 3 3/4 x 3 1/2 in (9.5 x 8.9 cm). Well-preserved with nice orange slip and light deposits. Ex collection of Hans G. Goedicke, famed Egyptologist and former chairman of the Johns Hopkins Near Eastern studies department, acquired in the 1950's-60's.
