A nice Syro-Hittite horse with rider, c. 2000 - 1500 BC, the horse nicely modeled with long tapering legs and short tail, the head with simple incised detail. The rider sits upright and faces to the side, wearing a striated pointed cap, his eyes wide and nose large and angular, left hand on the horse's head. Dimensions: 3 1/2 in x 4 in (8.9 x 10.1 cm).
