A very charming, c. 1920 Oldsquaw Hen Duck Decoy. According to an old typed label affixed to the bottom, this bird is from Cranberry Island, Maine (off the coast of Mt. Desert Island). It has an inletted head and working repaint. By Maine decoy standards, it is relatively small, measuring about 11” from beak to tail and 5” to the top of th e head. It definitely was a worker and shows minor wear, including a rubbed spot on the top of the head and on the tip of the beak and tail; there is a shot mark at the back of the head. Minor age checks on the back, extending from where the head was inletted, and a slightly larger one running the length of the bottom. Neither threaten the integrity of the decoy. A charming bird, oldsquaw decoys do not come along frequently.Domestic: Flat-rate of $25.00 to anywhere within the contiguous U.S.International: Foreign shipping rates are determined by destination.Location: This item ships from Massachusetts
