MARY MARTHA PEARSON (British 1799-1871) "Portrait of James Kerr" and "Portrait of Woman with Rose" Oil on canvas. 30 1/4 x 25 1/8 inches; Frame: 35 x 30 inches. 29 x 24 3/4 inches; Frame: 35 x 30 inches. Unsigned; with identifying label verso: "Portrait of Grandfather James Kerr-(Nainled), by Mrs. Charles Pearson. She exhibited portraits in the Royal Academy 1821 to 1842 died 1871- J. Jenneno. Died 1852". Signed and dated upper right corner: M.M. Parsons 1829. CONDITION: In overall good condition "Portrait of James Kerr" has been relined and re-varnished, there are abrasions throughout the canvas and craqulure throughout, possible heat damage in the lower right corner, pin size areas of missing paint throughout. Canvas would benefit from being cleaned and re-varnished. "Portrait of Woman with Rose" In overall good condition, the canvas has been relined, craqulure throughout the canvas with some visible abrasions in the figures dress on the right side. Possible heat damage in the upper right corner and lower right corner. Canvas would benefit from being cleaned and re-varnished. Both frames are missing areas of gilt along the trim **Neither was examined under black light**.
