Ottoman Empire Mother of Pearl Inlaid Exotic Wood Box, having engraved portrait of a Court Official, flanked by his two sons and with four young daughters in the corners of the hinged lid. Some are signed, dated '86. The man is wearing the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle, Second Class, and is in the civilian court uniform of a diplomat. The remainder of the box is covered in blossom and vine designs in mother-of-pearl, with bronze lifts, plate base and bun feet. 10 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 14 1/2". Some losses, old repairs.
