AN AMERICAN SHERATON LATE FEDERAL BLOND FLAME MAHOGANY, BIRD'S EYE AND TIGER MAPLE WORK TABLE, POSSIBLY NEW ENGLAND, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, the square bird's eye maple top, over a veneered flame mahogany flat frieze and rails supporting two graduating drawers with like flame mahogany veneer fronts, mounted with turned quarter sawn oak knobs, and flanked by "S" curved shaped stiles with like flame mahogany veneer, within bird's eye maple panel sides, joined to tiger maple stiles, raised on elaborately turned and tapered tiger maple legs, terminating in flat bun feet. Height: 28 1/4" Width: 21 1/4" Depth: 19 7/8"
Top has some stains, expected surface wear, a partial ring stain, and some cracking along the grain. The veneered surfaces have some cracking and general wear throughout. One knob now not attached but present. There are some very mild chip losses on the legs, some green paint residue, and one foot has an apparent repair. Overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
