A REPUBLIC OF TEXAS CUT AND CANCELED ONE DOLLAR CHANGE NOTE, TOGETHER WITH A REPUBLIC OF TEXAS CUT AND CANCELED THREE DOLLAR CHANGE NOTE, AUSTIN, 1841, the one dollar promissory note dated August 1, 1841 and signed by Samuel B. Shand as Comptroller and James Harvey Raymond as Treasurer, serial number 87755, height: 3 7/8", width: 6 7/8"; and the three dollar promissory note dated July 1, 1841 and signed by Samuel B. Shand as Comptroller and James Harvey Raymond as Treasurer, serial number 3053, height: 3 1/8", width: 6 5/8".

Condition

One dollar note: uneven trimmed margins, yellowing to paper stock, fading of ink, several cuts along bottom margin, bent corners; Three dollar note: uneven trimmed margins, yellowing of paper stock, fading of printed ink, running of writing ink, tear to upper and bottom margin, several cuts along bottom margin, right side margin completely trimmed and loss to right margin, right corners torn.
