PIERRE-ANTOINE MONGIN (French 1761-1827) A FOUR PANEL SCREEN WITH WOOD BLOCK PRINTED WALLPAPER IN THE "L'HINDOUSTAN" PATTERN, FOR ZUBER ET CIE, RIXHEIM, FRANCE, DESIGNED 1807, LATE 20TH CENTURY PRODUCTION, the four panels, numbered fifteen through eighteen from the original set of twenty by Mongin, requiring a total of 1,265 carved wood blocks and eighty-five different colors, illustrating an embarkation of a row boat on the Ganges and the Terrace on the Ganges, applied to white painted hollow door frames and varnished, the frames fitted with double action hinges. Height: 96" Width: 104" Depth: 1 3/8"


In overall good to very good condition with very minor rubbing along edges of panels, varnish yellowed.
