Alexander Shevchenko (Russian, 1883-1948) untitled cubist abstract oil on canvas in an open face gilt frame, signed by the artist in Cyrillic to the lower right hand corner. Frame measures 16-1/2" in height by 27-1/4" in width by 2-1/2" in depth, the sight image measures 10-1/2" in height by 21" in width. All measurements are approximate. This piece does not include paperwork, however subject, style, and signature are consistent with known works by the artist. In overall fair condition with some paint loss. Paint loss measures approximately 1-1/2" onto the left side and 2" to right side of the painting, please see photos. Aleksandr (Vasilievich) Shevchenko (1883–1948) was a highly influential Russian avant-garde painter and theorist.
