Philip Pearlstein (United States, b. 1924) lithograph framed and matted under glass depicting a reclining nude woman, hand numbered xx/xxv (20/25), titled "African Chair", signed "Philip Pearlstein", and dated "80". Frame measures 24" in height by 28" in width by 3/4" in depth, the sight image measures 16" in height by 20" in width. All measurements are approximate. Philip Pearlstein is an influential American painter best known for Modernist Realism nudes. Cited by critics as the preeminent figure painter of the 1960s to 2000s, he led a revival in realist art. His work is exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art and he has been awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship for Creative Arts.
