Original lithograph concert poster. 28x28 cm. (11x11"). First Printing.

Two examples of the original first printing mini-poster for the Grateful Dead appearing with Country Joe & the Fish at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco, on February 14, 1968. The iconic Stanley Mouse & Alton Kelley "Be Mine" image is featured in the Art of Rock (plate 2.174). This was One of the more incendiary shows from early '68 (Bob Weir's infamous "Burn down the Fillmore, gas the Avalon" chant during "Alligator" was born on this night), the full show was released as part of the "Road Trips" series.

Both pieces with general wear, soiling, and areas of creasing, one copy with a light vertical crease running the length, the other with a similar horizontal crease, pinholes to top edges, both with a staple hole toward the top of image, one more noticeable than the other, one copy with blue paint at top edge and top left corner affecting the image a bit; both copies good.
