Prior to the outbreak of World War I, he spent sufficient time in Cornwall to be considered a member of the St. Ives school of painters. Following the end of the War, Beaumont returned frequently to England and the Continent, painting marine and landscape scenes in St. Tropez, Venice, St. Ives and Brittany. Extended trips were made also to art colonies in New England and Canada- Rockport, Gloucester and Provincetown (Massachusetts), Ogunquit and Mattinicus Island (Maine), Dover Plains (New York), Sharon (Vermont) and Grand Manan Island and Gaspe Peninsula
