The Battle of New Orleans constituted the last major battle of the War of 1812. The American forces were commanded by Major General Andrew Jackson. The larger, British forces were commanded by Admiral Cochrane and General Pakenham. This historically important print illustrates the extreme efforts American forces exerted in order to stop the British from seizing the port of New Orleans and the vast territory the United States had acquired with the Louisiana Purchase. Beautifully framed and matted 33 1/4"x26 1/4" note: tear/fold center lower border of print
