Justus Lipsius was an important 16th-century Flemish philosopher whose work was written to restore a form of Stoicism that would be similar to Christian values. This book is a collection of Lipsius’s Letters and Correspondence written to various politicians, consulates, and nobles. Originally written in 1590, this edition was published a year later and is simply a reissue of the first edition by Plantin Press.
